Your Coach - Taylor F.

Close-up of a woman outdoors, smiling, with brown hair, wearing a colorful scarf, jacket, and a face mask pulled down, surrounded by fall foliage.

Taylor started her climbing journey in the Adirondack mountains of Upstate NY in May 2011 shortly before moving to Bozeman to attend MSU. She has 11 years of commercial and competition routesetting experience, and has been instructing and coaching for almost as long. Taylor mostly operates through her own business, Tangent Climbing, these days where she employs a collaborative coaching model that is inquiry-driven and educationally-based.

Testimonials:
I've been climbing for roughly 11 years and have never really had any formal coaching. After taking roughly a year off of climbing, I decided to reach out to Taylor and get a more systematic approach to training. Taylor helped me reach new benchmarks and become more consistent with the routes I was climbing. - Parker W.

Taylor is a great coach, personable, fun and always has a smile. She is easy to work with and spends appropriate amount of time with everyone one on one. The training team was a great learning opportunity for me and a big step in my climbing adventure!
- Steve R.

Taylor is an amazing, intuitive, and extremely compassionate coach. I felt like I had hit a plateau in my climbing due to a combination of things, and I was feeling incredibly frustrated and was starting to question whether or not it was even worth continuing to climb. She really helped me to rebuild my relationship with climbing through challenging some unhealthy perceptions/negative thought loops that I had. My biggest takeaway from working with Taylor is that I have so much time to improve my climbing and continue exploring the many aspects of this crazy sport. I don't need to feel like I need to rush. I have time to slow down and enjoy the process, to give attention and bring intention to the process because that's where I'll actually find satisfaction and enjoyment.
